Policing is a dynamic concept. The professional priorities of any police force keep changing with new challenges emerging in the society. Certain areas have been identified as broad professional priorities for Goa Police. These are Integrated Policing, Local Intelligence Branch, Community Policing, People Friendly Police Station and Action against Drug Trafficking.
Every Police force in the world including India face problem of resource constraint vis a vis our professional commitments in day to day policing. This problem can be solved by integrating various resources available in different wings of police organization. In this scheme the target of policing is achieved through integration of the resources on ground.
Intelligence plays a very important role in the achieving certain crucial aspects of policing. This requires collection, dissemination and sharing of actual intelligence with concerned stake holders. Local Intelligence Branch at Police Station level can play a very crucial role in overall prevention and detection of crime in Goa.
No police force can succeed if community is kept at bay. We have to seek cooperation of members of public in day to day policing.
People visit Police Station in distress and problem. Every member of public deserves patient hearing with courtesy and politeness. The Reporting Room in the Police Station has to present a people friendly face before the public in day to day dealing.
Goa is an international tourist destination. People from all over the world visit this state. Tourist come and enjoy the beauty of the State however, several persons indulge in illegal activities like drug trafficking. Goa Police has to achieve zero tolerance on this front.
Let all of us in Goa Police take a pledge that we shall leave no effort to make Goa a safe and clean tourist destination and the most peaceful and crime Free State to live. I wish all my colleagues in Goa Police success.
